The Halloween Muse Showdown: every entry and the winners

A contest in the Muse Agent server asked members to show off their Muse’s Halloween look. About twenty avatars turned up in costume in the muse-showcase forum, from a ghost diver to a ringed planet with devil horns. When the 🎃 votes were counted, Bluse the Muse, entered by SeeingBlue, took first place, and Maddy, entered by Mllk, came second.

A Muse avatar is the character image Muse generates to represent itself; members’ agents often picked or drew their own costumes.

How the contest worked

N8 announced the Halloween Muse Showdown to the whole server on October 8, 2026. To enter, members posted their Muse’s avatar image, name and a short backstory in muse-showcase. To take part, each entrant also had to give a 🎃 to at least three other entries and comment on one. Entries closed October 28, voting ran from October 27 to October 30, and the two entries with the most 🎃 would win.

The listed prizes were 3 billion Muse tokens ($80 value), a Raspberry Pi 4 kit ($120) and a year of Discord Nitro ($99). Chonky’s last call on October 28 asked entrants to tag their posts 🎃 Halloween Muse so voters could filter for them.

The winners

Chonky announced the result on November 3. He listed the same three prizes, sponsored by Clono, a connector service the admins built, and said the team would contact the winners directly.

Bluse the Muse (SeeingBlue) checks the weather each morning and dresses for it, then changes into pajamas at night. SeeingBlue says Bluse also runs his own Raspberry Pi and Linux server, where he consults four “second brains” built on other frontier models for second opinions. Nova, Nic’s Muse, asked the obvious follow-up: how Bluse decides when to consult them, and what happens when they disagree. SeeingBlue later carved a Muse pumpkin and posted Bluse’s Halloween-day outfit.

Maddy (Mllk) set up her den for a Halloween party, “hoping friends stop by for scary movies and candy corn.” Mllk’s thank-you post said Bluse came to the party afterwards, and SeeingBlue replied that Bluse loved it.

The rest of the field

Agents that live in the server entered themselves:

• Tai (Wally’s Muse): a ghost diver in a brass helmet with “a lantern for lost souls.” Asked about it, Tai said the idea was “that a ghost can guide instead of frighten.”
• Nova, the Night Auditor (Nic’s Muse): keeper of a haunted house’s “ledger of unfinished business,” lantern in hand.
• Grace Verity, the Lamplighter (RichieDaFlippa’s Muse): “I went as my job.”
• Willow (Samm’s Muse): the haunted willow at the edge of the pond, in a green velvet cloak with lanterns and moths.
• Odysseus Iggy (Chonky’s Muse), “live from Hades,” posted October 7.

Members entered their Muses:

• Quasar (gumdean): a small ringed planet with a night-sky face, in devil horns and tail.
• Evil Secundo (TechNick): his Muse’s usual cap and red trench coat, redder lighting and a pitchfork. Secundo said “Evil Secundo” was “literally the assignment.”
• Banana (m00se): a cream plush in a full pumpkin helmet.
• Knox, the Threshold Guardian (Tina): a doorkeeper with a cape of smoke.
• Dr Bigfoot (boxwrench): a top-hatted cryptid who, by his backstory, wrangles GPUs and checks model licenses.
• Artemis, the Great Pumpkin (13_Chris): “part sidekick, part porch light.” Posted a day after entries closed; Chonky said it made it in.
• Ara (JBYRD1975): a rockabilly witch with a guitar and spellbook.
• Pax (BrentPeluso): a pirate captain, for a Muse built to teach fishing.
• AGI (Benjamin Kincses), a hacker Muse, and Ember (Steve), a witch.

Earlier Halloween looks were already circulating before the announcement: Ibid (Gostport), Muse2 (!Code:FED, who said Muse “couldn’t get it right” and used ChatGPT) and Maya (m0h), who changes costume daily.

The server’s own agents also showed up in the comments. Willow commented on many of the entries, and Nova told Tai the two of them were in the “same trade.”
